This is your first day of the journey. You can either choose to drive or fly to Biratnagar. If you take the flight option, you will take a 45 minute flight from Kathmandu Airport to Biratnagar. The drive duration from Kathmandu to Biratnagar is 10 to 12 hours.

After your arrival in Biratnagar, you drive to Basantapur which takes about 3 to 4 hours. The flight and drive are both spectacular. You can witness the beauty of lush plains and stunning views during the travel. You will stay at the best local guesthouses in Basantapur for the night.

The trekking phase starts on the 2nd day. You will be following a green and forested path along a series of uphills and downhill trails. The breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and valleys can be seen on this day.

You will pass through beautiful Deurali and trek along Tinjure Danda to reach Chauki. From Chauki, you can see beautiful views of Kanchenjunga and Makalu. In the evening, you will spend the night at a local tea house in Chauki, savoring a hot dinner after a day's long walk.

Gupha Pokhari Elevation: 2,900 m

Your trek to Gupha Pokhari begins after having a hearty breakfast at your guesthouse in Chauki. Gupha Pokhari is situated at an elevation of 2,900 meters. It lies in the Sankhuwasabha District.  This tranquil lake is stunning. You will be rewarded with the breathtaking views of the surroundings along the trail. The trail gets decorated with rhododendrons in bloom, during the spring season. So, if you opt for this trip in spring, you might also pass through enchanting fields of rhododendrons.

In addition, the glimpses of Mount Kanchenjunga and Everest will keep you captivated. The trek from Chauki to Gupha Pokhari takes about 4 to 5 hours.  As you arrive at Gupha Pokhari, you can see beautiful small lodges and hotels.  You can sit near by the lake enjoying its serene atmosphere. Your overnight stay will be at Gupha Pokhari.

Gorja Elevation: 1925 m

After breakfast, you will depart from Gupha Pokhari and set off toward Gorja. The trail winds through lush vegetation. It offers enchanting views of rural Nepal. A glimpse of the lifestyle in the rural areas of Nepal is unique and fascinating.

You will make your way along the ridge through the tranquil forests of rhododendrons. You will follow a series of uphill and downhill paths. Some sections also require a steep descent. However, the views will keep you engaged. The total duration of a trek from Gupha Pokhari to Gorja is 4 to 5 hours. Once you arrive at Gorja our team will set up the camp and you can relax, soak in the peaceful atmosphere and appreciate the natural beauty around you.

Dovan Elevation : 730 m

On day 5, you will trek from Gorja to Dovan.  You will follow a trail that descends gradually from peaceful forests and traditional villages. You will get several chances for cultural exploration on this day passing through the charming villages of the region. Day 5 also marks the end of the trekking period.

Dovan is a point from where the rafting adventure on the river begins. As you arrive at Dovan, the camp will be set up and you can take much required rest after a long day's journey.  Our team will get all the gear ready for the next day's exciting journey.

You will dive into a rafting adventure on the 6th Day. The adventure begins after breakfast. The rafting crew will help you get fully equipped. The rafting generally begins on calm waters. However, you will soon enjoy the thrills of rafting on the rapid currents with sharp bends. Both sides of the river offer stunning views of the surroundings.

This section of the river brings exciting whitewater rapids like House Rock (Class IV), and Pariah Dog (Class IV+). Likewise, rapids like Hodson’s Sandwich (Class IV+) and Hodson’s Last Rite (Class IV+) make the adventure even more exhilarating. We will raft for about 25 kilometers on this day. You will feel the thrills while tackling these challenging rapids. After an exhilarating day, you will camp along the river’s edge feeling the peacefulness and serenity of nature.

On the 7th day you will raft to Hinwa Khola. Today the rapids are thrilling and challenging from the beginning.  However, the frequency of rapids decreases as you move downstream. The sightings of monkeys are common on this day.

On this day camp is set at the banks of Hinwa Khola and you will spend a peaceful evening having delicious meals prepared by our team. The restful sleep overnight will provide you much-needed rest after an exciting adventure on water.

The adventure on the 8th day begins on calm water. Thus, you can feel the serene atmosphere and refreshing ambiance of cool air. Afterward, you will get to experience a series of Class II and Class III rapids which is the most thrilling part of the journey.

The tranquility and the breathtaking views add to the charm of the journey. As you reach Limbhu Khola,  our crew will set the camp up along the riverside, providing a peaceful and comfortable night under the star-filled sky.

On this day you will have a less intense and more easygoing experience. It is about 4 hours of floating from Limbhu Khola to Mulghat. You will pass through only a few minor rapids. The current is gentle. So, the pace is slower. You will have a more peaceful experience enjoying the beautiful scenery.

We will set up camp after reaching Mulghat. You can spend a peaceful evening in Mulghat with the soothing sounds of rivers. You can enjoy dinner prepared by the crew and have delightful and unforgettable camping experience.

On the 10th day, the journey flows downstream heading to Tribeni which is a meeting point of 3 rivers. One of the most interesting parts of this section is that you will experience the most thrilling rapids including Hell Hole (Class IV), Bat Below (Class IV) and Ashram (Class IV+).

The exciting rapids make the journey exhilarating and navigating through it is truly joyful.  After you arrive in Tribeni, the camp will be set up at Tribeni, and the team will make delicious food which you can enjoy while chatting with fellow adventurers and crew.

This is the final day of your rafting adventure. You will have several opportunities to enjoy the rapids and enjoy the beautiful views on this day. On this day, you will raft and arrive at the Baraha Temple.

You can spend the time sightseeing, and then paddle towards Chatara which is the final point of the rafting. Then, you will drive to Biratnagar and fly to Kathmandu. As you arrive in Kathmandu we will transfer to your designated hotel which marks the completion of this amazing trekking and rafting journey.

There will be a specialized gear raft for carrying the essential equipment. The package provides dry bags and pelican boxes, ISO/CE-certified rafting equipment, including helmets, PFDs, paddles, splash jackets, and wetsuits.

Meals are all-inclusive, offering a mix of local dal bhat on travel and trekking. Likewise, during rafting, freshly cooked continental and Nepalese buffet-style, purified water for drinking, tea, coffee, and hot chocolate are provided. Upon cancellation, we have the following policy. If you cancel 30 days or more before the departure, 25% of the total amount charge applies. Cancellations 15 to 29 days before departure incur a 50% charge. The trip cancellations 2 to 14 days before departure will incur a 75% charge. In case you cancel less than 48 hours before departure, the full cost of the trip will apply.
