Trishuli River Rafting is considered to be moderately difficult in level of experience. The river is suitable for both beginners as well as experienced rafters. The rapids range between Class II to III+ depending on the season for its water level.

The best time for river rafting in Nepal is generally considered to be during the post-monsoon season which starts from September to November. The water levels are ideal for rafting after the heavy monsoon rains subside offering exciting rapids with manageable flow.

The Trishuli River in Nepal has been gauged at Betrawati, which is 600 meters which is 2,000 feet above sea level.

The "Trishuli Top Trek" generally refers to a moderate trekking route in Nepal that follows the mid-hill region near the Trishuli River, offering a glimpse into local Nepalese culture and lifestyle, without reaching high altitudes, typically starting from the town of Trishuli, a few hours drive from Kathmandu; it is often combined with a rafting trip on the Trishuli River itself.

Rafting speed can change based on the river's current and the rapids you face. On a moderate river with Class II rapids, you can expect speeds around 5 to 10 kilometers per hour which is 3 to 6 miles per hour. However, quickly moving rapids like Class III and above significantly increase the speed by reaching up to 20 kilometers per hour which is 12 mph or even more.

The appropriate age for rafting varies with the rapids, the ability and experience of the child, and general physical ability. Kids aged 5 to 9 can typically fit in half-day trips not more than three hours. Teens aged 10 and up to early teen years can deal with full days of three to five hours or more. Teenagers and older can handle all-day trips and multi-day rafting holidays. Strong paddlers with keen reflexes can even prepare themselves for the excitement of Class V rapids.

For river rafting, you can wear quick-drying materials like polyester or nylon. Start with a swimsuit or board shorts bottom and a quick-drying top. The Trishuli River takes its origin at 2,600 meters from the descending point of the Rasuwa Pass in Nepal coming from Tibet. Successively dropping in elevation while passing through the Nuwakot, Dhading, and Gorkha districts, the river finally joins the Narayani River at a lower elevation completing its flow.

There is no limit on weight for white water rafting, but your weight will impact safety, especially in challenging rapids with boulders, waves, and waterfalls. Float trips are offered by some rafting companies for individuals who may be overweight. Rafting is a physically demanding activity, requiring moderate effort and the possibility of falling into cold water. A good guide can be the difference between making a safer experience on the water.

The minimum age for whitewater rafting also depends on the rafting company and the level of rapids. For tranquil rivers, the minimum age with most companies would be around 5 years of age. For more challenging rapids, however, the minimum age could be 12 years or more. Always call the rafting company to obtain their specific age requirement.

The rivers flowing from the Himalayas are both beautiful and ferocious. The rapids render rafting here an unforgettable experience. White sandy beaches on the rivers add to the thrill, offering a perfect spot to relax between rapids. A novice or a pro, rafting in Nepal is an experience never to be forgotten. Each river is difficult in its way, some with an easy trip for beginner rafters and others so extreme they challenge the skills of even veteran rafters.
