Trip Itinerary
Today early morning, a luxurious car comes to your hotel for airport pick up. By first flight of 30 minutes we reach to Biratnagar Airport and take a van for Dhankuta Hile. 4-5 hour drive takes us to beautiful Hile where we will check into local guest house and enjoy typical eastern hill foods with mesmerizing view of green landscape and mountains. Today we will meet with trekking guide as well with rating crew who orient about the safety measures and highlights major attraction of 4 days trekking and 4 days rafting. In afternoon we walk around Hile and explore the Kirant cultures of Nepal. In evening we will have delicious dinner in one of the famous cultural restaurant of Hile. Overnight in local guest house.
After having breakfast we set off our journey towards the east edge of Hile bazaar and move upwards through Salleri forest. Leaving Hile behind, we ascend towards Hile Monastery, from where we enjoy beautiful scenery of Hile Bazaar. Now we walk follow slightly steady road on the bottom of green forest with cheerful encounter with local people. After passing ups and down road we reach to beautiful village called Basnatapur where we have lunch in local restaurant and have some rest for an hour. After lunch we will enter into Sankhuwasabha district, then, we again walk uphill via forest, farming terraces and beautiful village settlement along with spectacular view of Mt. Kanchenjunga and Mt.Makalu. On the way we will walk via beautiful forest of colorful rhododendron flowers, twittering of birds and occasionally the wild animals. With rewarding view of natural landscapes and human settlements we reach to Managalbare for the overnight stay. Mangalabare houses some guest houses but we will stay on camp for spedndig night peacefull . Overnight camping in Mangalbare.
After breakfast we will take east turn and follow the smooth trail that bends east from Mnagalbare. We walk under green forest with spectacular view of , Sankhuwasabha , Dhankuta and Taplejung districts. The hilly settlements, farming terraces, small streams, and the grazing areas make your walk rewarding until we reach to a peaceful place Gufa Pokhari for lunch. Gufa Pokhari is a natural pond out of water from small springs. This pond is regarded as a holy pond for Hindu and Buddhist people so people also visit this place for pilgrimage purpose too.
Upon reaching Gufa Pokhari, set the tent up on the meadow besides the lake, where the lunch is served. While eating we enjoy the close view of Mt.Everest and Mt. Makalu. After lunch we can have short hike to the hilltops around the lake from where we enjoy views of Himalaya and hilly landscapes, and also pluck multicolor rhododendron flowers. In evening we will have dinner and enjoy campfire. Overnight in camp.
Today we get up early morning to enjoy the picturesque sunrise that appears above Mt. Everest. While eating breakfast we enjoy the sunrise and observe the morning rituals performed by local people in the pond. Then we trek uphill towards Snahu village via green forest and continue waling inside forest until we reach to Dhuge Sanghu . After having lunch in Dhunge Sanghu , we enter into beautiful village spotted with farming terraces , schools , temples and stone-tap . After Dunge Sanghu , we walk in motorable road until we reach to Change Hiti. Leaving Change Hiti, we follow downhill road until we reach to Dhobhan from where we will start rafting tomorrow. Dobhan is situated in confluence of Maikhola and Tamor river. After setting camp, we will have meeting with rafting crew for orientation briefing about next four days trekking . Overnight in camp.
After having breakfast, we meet at the beginning point with trekking crew who will make us well-equipped . We start rafting over smooth tide then immediately enter into rapid currents with sharp bend. The paddy fields and farming terraces on the both sides of river also provide beautiful scenery. Tamor river is also famous for Golden Masheer fishing, so we will encounter with local and as well as professional anglers. For next three hours we will raft over III class rapids and reach to Kabeli Dobhan and do camping with fishing. Overnight in Camp.
After breakfast , we will start second day rafting. Passing the suspension bridge above our head we take slight bend and enter into high rapid speed that is really thrilling and joyous. Sometimes we raft over the wide flow of water and sometime enter into narrow gorge. We cross the paddy fields and suspense bridges several times as well as pass the waterfalls and small tributaries rivers. After crossing Mid Hill Highway in Majhitar , we stop or overnight stay at tent in place called Kayaking river bank . Overnight in Camp.
We continue rafting over Tamor River that flows between Dhankuta and Tehrathum districts of eastern Nepal. For first fifteen minutes we sail over smooth rapid, then we meet sharp bend nearby Thamlung river, where we experience adventurous move. Then we pass the class rapid again at the confluence of Tamur and small stream. After this point we meet about five confluences of tributaries of Tamor river with fast rapids and sharp bends until we reach to Dumre for overnight stay in cam. Overnight in tent camp.
After breakfast, we start rafting on slow rapid for first hours. After crossing Mulghath the rapids of river id fast with strong tides and currents of water, that is why we are more adventurous, thrilling and exciting. The sharp bends, II plus rapids, more than 10 tributaries of that flows rapids contributes to make our rafting more audacious. View of plan paddy fields beautiful farming terraces and beautiful villages hanging on hill and human settlements spreading both sides of Tamor make our rafting more rewarding. On the contrary to last three days today you will fulfill the thirst of adventurous whitewater rafting. Having delightful rafting of four hour we reach to Triveni Ghat, the confluence of three major rivers; Tamor, Arun rivers .In evening we enjoy walking on sand, crossing the suspension bridges and visiting local shops there. Overnight in Tent.
After breakfast we start rafting over the Saptakoshi River that carries five times more water than Tamor. Today we raft only for one hour in smooth water rapid speed until we reach to Chatara Ghat, the exit point of rafting, from where we catch a van to Biratnagar Airport. A short flight takes us to Kathmandu in afternoon. After check into hotel we, can have better rest or go for shopping. In evening we will meet in one of the cultural restaurant in Thamel, where we can enjoy food of different varieties of Nepali tradition and multi-cultural performances by artists. Overnight in Hotel
